Air Quality Advisory & Notice of Recycling Delay
An air quality advisory has been issued for Peace River. Heavy smoke from active wildfires in the region has resulted in a “Hazardous” air quality level. This may create breathing difficulty and vision concerns for some residents.
We recommend staying indoors as much as possible, with the windows closed.
The high density of smoke has also resulted in a recycling collection delay, as collection contractors work through tough conditions. As such, they will be breaking up the collection between today and tomorrow (May 19). Tomorrow’s recycling collection will take place in the downtown area and the south end.
