It follows an ALERT investigation in the Swan City, where upwards of $250-thousand worth of drugs was seized from four homes on Friday, September 1, 2017. Most of the homes were located in the Riverstone neighbourhood.

Among the items seized includes 1.3 kilograms of powder and crack cocaine, 573 grams of methamphetamine, 1,476 fentanyl pills, about 20 grams of marijuana, a Mercedes-Benz SUV, and about $2,000 in cash.

“Taking a quantity of drugs such as this off the streets of Grande Prairie is a real feather in ALERT’s cap,” says Insp. Dave Dubnyk. “With the help of our partners in the RCMP, we’re doing everything we can to make Grande Prairie a safer place for families to live.”

Ali is also charged with Two Counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, as well as One Count of Possession of the Proceeds of Crime.

The cash and vehicle seized will be referred to Alberta’s civil forfeiture office.

Anyone who wishes to report suspected drug or gang activity can always call their local police detachment, or Crime Stoppers, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
