
Statistics Canada released the latest employment figures for March 2025.
The province saw a decrease of over 15,400 jobs from February to March, pushing the unemployment rate from 6.7% to 7.1%.
Full-time employment took a major hit with 30,300 jobs lost, although part-time positions increased by 14,400.
In the economic region, the unemployment rate rose by 0.5% year-over-year to 5.5%.
Meanwhile, the Peace Region’s unemployment rate remains below the national average of 6.9%.
