Attention Parents and Guardians:
We have some updated information to share on how wildfires are impacting Northland schools.
The following NSD schools are closed due to wildfire or air quality
Gift Lake School: The community is still under an evacuation alert due to wildfire.
Hillview School: The community is still under a mandatory evacuation order due to wildfire. Online learning started Tuesday, May 16, 2023. If families have any questions, please email Principal Rosalind Best at rosalind.best@nsd61.ca.
Bishop Routhier School: The community is still under a mandatory evacuation order due to wildfire.
Chipewyan Lake School: The community is still under a mandatory evacuation order due to wildfire.
Grouard Northland School: Classes were cancelled Wednesday, May 17th, and 18th due to air quality in the community.
Susa Creek School: Classes were cancelled Wednesday, May 17th, and 18th due to air quality in the community.
NOTE: Just a reminder that there is No School tomorrow (Friday, May 19th) and Monday, May 22nd. Friday is a professional learning day for school staff and Monday is Victoria Day. Central office will be closed on Monday, May 22nd.
We will provide an update about the above-mentioned school closures when more information becomes available.
