Regarding rumours that have been circulating on Facebook concerning RCMP members entering private residences and removing firearms, I would like to reassure the public that this is false.
The RCMP presence within the Town of Valleyview is for the purpose of protecting dwellings and property, at which they have been doing an outstanding job.
RCMP have also been tremendous in assisting the Town in the evacuation process and providing ongoing patrols.
