Valleyview RCMP have Grande Prairie man in handcuffs

Valleyview, Alta. -On June 20, 2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m., a Valleyview RCMP officer located a suspicious vehicle on Range Rd 245 in the MD of Greenview. After an initial investigation, the lone male occupant was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and officers searched the vehicle subsequent to arrest. As a result of the search officers located:

·       132 grams of methamphetamine

·       several vials of heroine

·       a scale a and drug packaging materials

·       Canadian Currency

·       a loaded prohibited firearm, bear spray, and an extendable baton.

Jeremy Ian MacNaughton (46), a resident of Grande Prairie, has been charged with:

·       Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking

·       Possession of Heroine for the Purpose of Trafficking

·       Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

·       5 firearms related charges

·       5 counts of Failing to Comply with Release Orders

·       Possession of Break-in Instruments

·       Uttering a Forged Document

MacNaughton has been remanded to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on June 28, 2023.

At the time of his arrest, MacNaughton was on a Release Order for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Stolen Property, and multiple firearms offences from an arrest in the Grande Prairie area in December 2021.
