
Extreme wildfire conditions are continuing to persist across Alberta.
There are 170 wildfires burning across the province, and Alberta wildfire officials say that priorities are being made to focus on the wildfires that are having a direct threat to human life, communities, critical infrastructure and major industrial facilities.
In the High Level Forest Area, officials from the Little Red River Cree Nation were able help develop new containment strategies and increase ground access around the perimeter of the Semo Complex Fire.
Structural protections are also happening in John D’or Prairie, after that community was evacuated on the weekend.
Two main fires happening in the Peace River Forest Area are the 9000 hectare blaze that’s 23 km northeast of Worsley, and the 3000 hectare fire 17 km southwest of Keg River.
Air tankers, firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment operators are continuing their fire suppression efforts.
