
Lots of rain over the past few days has helped with the fire situation locally.
The biggest fire in the region remains the Semo Complex Fire on the Little Red River Cree Nation, which is classified as out of control at more than 96,000 hectares in size.
More resources have been ordered and will arrive over the coming days to continue battling the fire.
People have been out of their homes in Garden River, Fox Lake and John D’or Prairie for several weeks now.
Another major wildfire evacuation also happened recently in Jasper.
The RCMP says officers from several detachments, including High Level, did assist with the evacuations in Jasper National Park.
Some Jasper evacuees are in the Grande Prairie area, where a reception centre has been set up.
The Governments of Canada and Alberta have announced they will match donations made to the Canadian Red Cross to support Albertans impacted by wildfires.
