Winagami Lake Survey Concerning New Features

Alberta Parks is holding a survey concerning the future of Winagami Lake Provincial Park.

The current wading pool at Winagami has reached the end of it’s service life and has been closed for several years. The pool will be removed because of structural and operational issues.

Alberta Parks is looking to get input on potential recreation opportunities that would enhance the visitor experience in the Day Use Area at the lake. These recreational opportunities would use the natural features of the park to enhance visits.

The survey will feature such questions as:

  • What are some of the defining features of Winagami Lake Provincial Park that you feel are important to promote and preserve?
  • What existing park amenities keep you coming back, and what new and improved features would encourage you to come back more often?
  • The wading pool is beyond its service life and is being removed. The site currently offers formal playground equipment. What other recreational amenities would you see suitable as a replacement for the wading pool once it is removed?
