Grimshaw Huskies Nail Their First Season Win

The Grimshaw Huskies have finally done it!!!

They’ve taken their first victory of the 2017-18 North Peace Hockey League (NPHL) season at the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex with an 8-5 win over the High Prairie Regals.

Team Captain Bond Hawryluk and Alternate Captain Carson Fairless each got four points. Haweryluk got three goals and an assist, while Fairless scored four assists.

Alternate Captain Ty Weibe also got three points, scoring a goal and two assists. Getting a goal and an assist was Brendan Hawryluk, Loewen Lambert and Brandon Bogdanek. Kevin Monfette scored the remaining goal, while Levi Pichette registered an assist.

As well, David Gingras managed to stop 25 of 30 shots made at the goal line.

The Regals, meanwhile, have now lost four game in a row, despite goaltender Matt MacMinn stopping 26 of 34 shots made on the net.

Also, Team Captain Al Anderson, as well as players Kyle Olansky, Drake and Verny Cunningham, as well as Hector Lamouche, each managed to get the puck once past the Grimshaw goal line.

The Huskies remain idle until Friday, December 8, 2017, when they head off to Manning to take on the Comets.

The Regals, meanwhile, play their next game at the Sports Palace on Thursday, December 7, when they play host to the Falher Pirates. The Pirates currently lead in the East Division with 10 points.
