The campaign for Peace River Mayor is officially underway.
Local businessman Jami Paras is officially putting his name forward for the position.
This is the first time Paras is running for elected office.
The owner of retail store “Looking Good” stopped by the Trending 55 Newsroom to discuss his campaign.
Paras says that he has some challenges with how the current council conducts their affairs.
When it comes to the new arena and the complex, Paras says it’s challenging to find any information on it at all.
He says that through talking to voters within the town, saying that they want to see the town cleaned up.
Paras adds that there’s a number of things that he wants to see accomplished if he gets elected, namely getting a second ice surface installed at the new complex.
Voters cast their ballots on Monday, October 16, 2017.
