It’s to discuss ongoing negotiations regarding the continuation of Air Ambulance Services at the Peace River Regional Airport.

While the Town of Peace River has not been invited to the meeting itself, they did get some assurances.

“They’ve just recently told us that the Air Ambulance contracts will not be up for ratification this coming Thursday,” Peace River Mayor Tom Tarpey told Kent Schumaker from the YL Country Morning Show. “They’d given us some assurance when they said that this isn’t the case. We’d gone back to them said that this is definitely the case, that you’re not looking at approving the Air Ambulance at your board meeting. And they said that no, they’re not.”

Instead, officials from AHS will be meeting with the Town on Friday to discuss the issue further.

In a recent interview with the Trending 55 Newsroom, Alberta Health Minister Sarah Hoffman reiterated that under no circumstances would Air Ambulance services be leaving the Peace River area.
