A lake north of High Level is under a blue green algae advisory.

Alberta Health Services says algae blooms have been identified in Hutch Lake.

Residents living near the shores of this lake, as well as visitors to this lake, are advised to take several precautions.

Avoid all contact with the algae blooms, don’t swim in any areas where the algae is visible, and don’t feed fish from the lake to your pets.

Weather and wind conditions can cause algae blooms to move from one location in the lake to another.

Due to this, the advisory will remain in effect for Hutch Lake until further notice.
