The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is investigating the possible use of force in an arrest in Spirit River.
RCMP officers were responding to a break and enter call at a rural location on Saturday afternoon.
Officers attended the scene and located and arrested two suspects.
During the arrest, one suspect was injured and was transported to hospital, where they remain for observation.
As a result of a regular internal review into the arrest, RCMP have advised ASIRT, who will be initiating an investigation.
ASIRT has been directed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the actions of the police during this investigation.
