Berwyn Lodge Closing

The North Peace Housing Foundation is asking for a 50 percent budget increase, as it’s planning to close down the Berwyn Lodge and build a new 120 bed facility in Peace River.  Berwyn and area Chamber of Commerce President Neil Sandboe says the main concern of closing down the lodge is the residents, saying it’s quite traumatic for them to hear this news.  Sandboe believes letter writing is the best way for people to voice their concerns to government officials.  The village chamber recently held a meeting on the issue, with Sandboe expressing disappointment that there weren’t many residents of the lodge in attendance, saying he’d hoped to see more.
