Cadotte Lake man arrested after allegedly trying to flee from police

A 36-year-old man from Cadotte Lake has a court date of November 16.

The Peace Regional RCMP was searching for the suspect, who is wanted on 15 outstanding warrants.

The investigation led officers to a residence in Cadotte Lake and the suspect left the house and fled in a vehicle, nearly colliding with a police cruiser.

The suspect was tracked down and police attempted a traffic stop but he refused to stop.

The suspect then got caught and was taken into custody on a nearby ATV trail.

A search of the suspect and suspect vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, oxycodone, a taser and a quantity of Canadian currency.  

Edward Floyd Flett is charged with multiple offences including:

  • Flight from police
  • Operating a motor vehicle while prohibited x 2
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x 2 (crystal methamphetamine and oxycodone)
  • Possession of restricted device
  • Fail to comply with release order x 2

Following a judicial hearing, Flett was remanded as his bail was not spoken to.
