Drug trafficking investigation leads to charges

Three suspects will be in a High Prairie courtroom on October 19.

The Lakeshore Regional Police Service got a search warrant for a house in the Driftpile Cree Nation community on Monday.

Officers were joined by the High Prairie RCMP and Police Dog Service out of Grande Prairie.

Following the search, officers seized: methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, weapons, ammunition and electronic storage devices.

Two adult males and one adult female have been charged with: possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, identity theft and failure to comply with a release order.

The LRPS also says charges are pending against a second adult female

The police service did not disclose the names of the suspects.
