EE Oliver Elementary School in Fairview has their breakfast program back once again.

School Principal Evelyn Krol says they’ve usually served them in a central location in the school, but COVID-19 safety protocols means they’ll be served in the classrooms instead.

“It’s a nutrition program where children are able to come and they are provided with breakfast so that they get to start their day off on a good foot. A child that’s well fed can learn better and become a successful member of their community.”

The program is free for students and school principal Evelyn Krol says it’s funded by some donations that they’ve received.

“The Predidents’ Choice Children’s Program, we apply to them every year for funding and we were given $3500 from them this year. TC Energy gave us $5000 this year. Last March, one of our parents who’s an employee from TC Energy suggested we apply to them for funding.”

Krol adds that the breakfast program at the school has been going on for over 15 years now.
