May 6 @ 8:15PM -This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Big Lakes County is issuing a Wildfire Alert. This alert is in effect for Big Lakes County Residents in the area: South of Highway 2, East of Range Road 185, North of Township Road 740, West of Range Road 183, and West of Highway 749 as indicated on the map.
A wildfire is moving northwest through the Gilwood area. Since there is a potential danger to life and health, if you are in the affected area, you must PREPARE to evacuate with 1 HOUR notice. Gather pets, important documents and medication, and enough food, water, and supplies for at least 3 days. This alert will be updated if an evacuation is required.
