Farmers and Ranchers preparing for winter season (Kaylee Healy)

The extreme winter weather hasn’t hit the Peace Region yet, but farmers and ranchers have to be prepared for it.

The Alberta Farm Animal Care organization is also getting prepared, despite the fact it’s December, and it’s warm by the month’s standards.

The Organization is recognizing that a fair number of new entries are in the farming and ranching sector, and having them being ready for the winter season is paramount.

But the Organization also says that the seasoned veterans need to be ready as well, even though they have a leg up in the shed.

It is also being said to over-estimate things like feed, hay, and other comfort tools, just in case the thermometer nose-dives more than once during the winter.

The Executive Director of Alberta Farm Animal Care, is Kaylee Healy.
