For years now I have taken in the adventures of the Life With Malamute’s YouTube Channel and instantly fell in love with the one dog Phil, who was a favourite of almost everyone who watched the channel, so it was sad to find out Phil had passed away sometime in January, with the announcement just coming out today.

The channel centered around the Matthews family and their Malamutes (Phil and Niko, later Teddy) and Main Coon cat Milo also a new cat, with some appearances of Buddy (a golden retriever) and other YouTube dogs like Sherpa. The show was more about the dogs and cat until they had their daughter then the focus shifted a bit to the kids.

Phil had actually became a bit of a celebrity and was featured on the radio after a video from the channel caught the attention of a radio DJ as Phil could actually have a pronounced “woof.” Phil was able to speak and “woof” live on the air. Phil was known for his hilarious refusal of baths and being a big softy.

Phil known for his calm demeanor except around his favourite people Harley (the dads younger sister) and the grandparents. Sadly had been dealing with various health issues over the past few years which caused some fur loss, and as the announcement video shows he had a steep decline over a couple days, and passed away.

Phil is going to be missed by their followers including myself who were excited for a new video featuring Phil. It will be hard to watch the channel for a bit knowing their will be no Phil, as he might be the only “celebrity” pet I would’ve wanted to meet.

RIP Phil you were a great boy
