On-Farm Climate Action fund (RDAR) (Fiona Briody)

It’s a simple plan for farmers to receive funds for changes on the farm that may need to occur.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has provided $33 million dollars over the next two years, for ranchers to tackle climate change.

The support will be for target areas like Cover Cropping, Nitrogen Management, and Rotational Grazing.

Individual applications are being taken in to help address issues, including up-front implementation costs, lack of risk protection, delayed returns on investment and limited availability of information and agronomic services.

Fiona Briody is the program manager of the On-Farm Climate Action fund, from Results Driven Agriculture Research.
