In the last 24 hours both the Peace River and High Prairie RCMP have responded to separate car accidents.

High Prairie RCMP and Emergency Services were called to a crash on July 31 at around 5:30 P.M. where a northbound vehicle with a lone occupant drove across the centre line and went into the ditch on the opposite side of the road.  The vehicle rolled over, and the driver, a 48 year old man from Mclennan, Alberta was pronounced deceased at the scene. The accident happened on Highway 750 in the community of Grouard, Alberta, 30 km northeast of High Prairie. High Prairie RCMP are asking any witnesses of the crash to contact them, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police say no charges are being considered.

At 3 A.M. today Peace River RCMP issued a release saying police were on scene at a serious two vehicle collision on Highway 2 near Range Road 252. The collision resulted in the deaths of 2 people and the hospitalization of 2 others. Highway 2 was closed early this morning but has since re-opened. Currently no details about those involved with the crash have been released, nor the time of the incident. Police say they will provide an update as more information is made available.
