After getting ready all season for it, the North Peace Navigators are ready to begin the Junior B Provincials.

It’s been a little over three weeks since the Navs last played a game, and head coach Jody Menssa says they’ve had some fairly intense practices since then.

“We’ve tried to keep the schedule as rigorous as possible to sort of mimic if we were still playing through to a final series so we’ve been going pretty well every other day. We’ve been having dry lands as well and a bunch of meetings throughout the week here and here. Guys have been working pretty hard at it.”

Menssa says several players have been able to heal up from some injuries since they last played.

“Guys have been able to get healthy and recover from some things. We’ve got a couple of guys that look like their going to be back here for the tournament that missed the entire playoffs due to some serious injuries. That’s definitely a positive note and I think for the most part we should be a fairly healthy team.”

The Navs round robin schedule is as follows.

Wednesday vs La Crete 8 PM
Thursday vs Calgary 8 PM
Friday vs Okotoks 7 PM
Saturday vs St. Albert 2:30 PM
