  1. The town of Valleyview and the MD of Greenview have received the 2024 Minister’s Award for Transportation Innovation from the province.
    The award is because of the work that was done on the Valleyview Airport.
  2. The heavy police presence in Grande Prairie’s Hillside neighbourhood, has RCMP confirming the incident was firearm-related.
    A 32-year-old resident faces numerous firearms offenses. He was scheduled in court today.
  3. The Alberta legislature’s spring session begins today, with health care expected to be a main focus.
    Tomorrow is the presentation of the 2024 provincial budget, which is said to be balanced, but fiscal belt-tightening is needed.
  4. Pink Shirt Day is today, and is being marked across the Northwest.  It’s a symbol of making a stand against bullying.

  5. Police arrested someone Tuesday evening in connection with the Beaumont hit-and-run that killed a Fort Saskatchewan woman.
    A 45 year-old was killed on Saturday when she was hit by a U-Haul driver fleeing police. She had driven over a spike belt and left her vehicle to see what had happened.
  6. Chrysler is recalling 18,323 2021-23 MY Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L models in Canada, with more in the U.S., Mexico, and internationally.
    A company investigation following customer feedback led to the discovery that some models may have a damaged pinch bolt in the upper control arm.
  7. A winter storm expected to drop almost half a metre of snow in the Alberta Rockies is leading Parks Canada to close a portion of a major highway.
    The federal agency said the storm is expected to reach Banff and Jasper national parks on Wednesday, leading to close a portion of the Icefields Parkway.

  10. Snow is in the forecast for the Northwest heading into tonight and tomorrow. 5 cm in the Peace and 5-10 cm in the Big Lakes is expected.
    Temps are around -10 or -15 today and tonight, but numbers will cool off a little when the snow stops tomorrow afternoon.
