  1. The Peace River and District Chamber of Commerce Business Trade Show is getting ready to be presented.
    Booth space is available for the show, which is April 12 and 13 at the Baytex Energy Center in Peace River. (Reilly Bassendowski interview on App)
  2. Gas Prices are seemingly going up, just in time for taxes coming back into effect. Prices at the pumps are in the range of $1.43 in Peace River to as high as $1.61 in High Level.
    This is in anticipation of an increase to the Federal Carbon Tax, and the Provincial Fuel Tax, coming April 1st.
  3. The first day of Spring is today, but the recent warm weather has put Road Bans into effect in many locales in the Northwest.
    Authorities are reminding residents to be mindful of the restrictions that could be in place.
  4. Former Justice Minister Kathleen Ganley is one of the six candidates in the NDP leadership race.
    Some policies that Ganley has on her platform include raising minimum wage and increasing the basic income tax exemption.
  5. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is threatening to move a motion of non-confidence in the prime minister with the aim of prompting an election.
    The move will be made  if Justin Trudeau doesn’t back off the April 1 Carbon tax price hike.
  6. The Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame welcomes Billy Dea, Jarome Iginla, Dave King, Kelly Kisio, Craig MacTavish, Shannon Szabados and the 2000-01 Red Deer Rebels to its ranks this summer in Red Deer.
  7. Former NHLer and Lethbridge native Vic Stasiuk passes away at 93 years of age.
    Stasiuk spent 14 years in the NHL with Boston, Detroit and Chicago, winning three Stanley Cups.
  8. Three games in the NHL tonight… Toronto is in Washington, Arizona is in Dallas, and Minnisota is in LA.
  9. Canada is 7-0 at the Women’s World Curling Championship in Sydney Nova Scotia. Rachel Homan beat Japan 7-2 this morning, and will take on Turkey tonight.
  10. Central and southern Alberta bracing for a blast of winter.
    As much as 30 cm of snow could fall by Friday.
  11. Clouds this afternoon in the Northwest, followed by some light snow tonight and into tomorrow.
    The Big Lakes is expecting 2-4 cm, but after that, it will clear off and numbers will hang around freezing as a high into next week.
