  1. Police in the Peace Region have five in custody on a laundry list of charges.
  2. RCMP in High Prairie say that Everett Lamarche who went missing last week was located deceased.
    Officers say the manner of death is not deemed to be suspicious.
  3. Police in High Level have four in custody on drug charges.
    A 33 year-old and 37 year-old man, both from Bushe River, a 25 year-old woman from High Level, and a 37 year-old man from Red Deer are due in court on Monday.
  4. While Peace Regional Police is dealing with auto crime, authorities in the Smoky River region are dealing with an increase in theft from worksites.
    McLennan RCMP have said that crime is up by 12% from last year, and it’s largely due to theft from the sites. (Allan Paterson Interview on App)
  5. Ward 2 trustee Tom Henihan of the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division, has tendered his resignation from the board.
    The HFCRD board has approved the new 3-year Facility Capital Plan. Building a new St. Andrew’s School in High Prairie will be top priority in the Plan.
  6. The federal conservatives intend to force a vote of non-confidence on the prime minister as the party seeks to force a “carbon tax election.”
    The Alberta government is again affirming its opposition to the federal carbon plan and the 23% increase set to go into effect on April 1.
  7. NPHL Finals tonight… Game 5, Spirit River is in Falher, the series is tied 2-2.
  8. Five Canadian teams are in action in the NHL tonight. Buffalo is in Edmonton, Montreal is in Vancouver, Winnipeg is in New Jersey, and St. Louis is in Ottawa.
  9. Canada is 9-0 at the Women’s World Curling Championships in Sydney Nova Scotia. Rachel Homan beat Estonia 9-4 this morning, and will face New Zealand tonight.
  10. Skies will clear off this afternoon in the Northwest, with numbers around -5.
    However, with those clear skies come cooler temperatures as go down to around -10 in the Big Lakes, -15 in the Peace and -20 in the Mackenzie.
