- A new doctor has taken up residency in the Peace Region. Dr. Aman Tataba is practicing as a family physician at the Health Center and Medical Clinic in Valleyview.
However, the shortages continue in the rural Peace region, including in Fairview, where no doctor is available at Emergency all week this week. - The town of Fairview meets tonight…

Also a topic of discussion is from the MD of Fairview regarding St. Thomas More School to the Grande Prairie Catholic School Division. - The Peace Energy Co-op has received approval from the Alberta Utilituies Commission to build a 5 mega-watt grid connected solar farm, near the Peace River Airport.
Executive Director Don Pettit says the project will advance sustainability efforts, while creating economic opportunities and supporting local job growth. - Over one hundred lawyers in Alberta now have a royal distinction. That number have received the title of King’s Councsel in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the legal community.
Those lawyers include Clifford Mark Headon of Grande Prairie, and Jeffrey Mark Harcourt of Peace River. - Affordability and Utilities Minister Nathan Neudorf says the Alberta government is reconsidering whether the province should have conventional nuclear power plants.
In 2011, Bruce Power abandoned its plans for a nuclear power plant in the Peace River area when natural gas prices dropped and made gas-fired power plants cheaper to run. - The carbon price hike has been met with contention from premiers, mainly regarding worries about putting additional financial strain on Canadians.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith called the carbon price increase “inhumane” during testimony at a House of Commons committee.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has also been vocal, but his “spike the hike” motion was defeated at the House of Commons last month. - The La Crete Lumber Barons are looking to keep some momentum going from their NWJHL championship run into this week’s Junior B Provincials in Peace River.
