As the provincial economy recovers from the pandemic, Peace River MLA Dan Williams see our region leading the way on that front.

Williams spoke with the Trending 55 Newsroom recently and says he sees a lot of economic diversity coming to the region.

“Right now, we see an economy that’s hot and ready to take off in Northern Alberta. I think one of the biggest problems we’re going to be facing is a skilled labour shortage. If folks are looking to get back in the workforce, now is the time. We need you participating and to be a part of this recovery, it’s going to be exciting in Alberta.”

Williams highlighted several projects either happening right now or coming to the area that will help with that.

“$35 million plus for the La Crete maternity and health centre, the $16 million that’s gonna go into the pipeline for natural gas to get up to Blue Hills, right here in Peace River, $40 million injected into this economy for the refurbishing (of the old bridge). It’s relaunching our economy and diversifying where we’re going to get our resources and our income from for years to come.”
